The Family-Owned Company Has New Managing Partners

Owner of the Marathon Companies, Tod Cislo, announced new Managing Partners of the companies – Jake Cislo and Amanda Fachko. In April of 2022, Jake and Amanda were appointed as members of the Board of Directors to start expanding their roles within the company, and to bring fresh ideas and a youthful perspective.

Winter 2025 Newsletter - NEW products & Marathon Companies bring back a familiar face

The Marathon Companies brought back a familiar face - Tony Venturoli, a seasoned veteran in sales and former employee of The Marathon Companies, has rejoined the team to take on the role of Special Projects Coordinator. After discussions with owner Tod Cislo, it became clear that Tony's enduring passion for project coordination and his enthusiasm for the work make him an excellent fit for this new chapter at Marathon.

Fall 2024 Newsletter - Marathon Company Receives Preferred Supplier Award

Dave Schroeder, Jake Cislo & Tod Cislo President of Marathon Roofing Products was proud to accept The ABC Catalog Division Preferred Vendor Award for 2024 from Darla Cortez our direct contact at Catalog. This award is given to the top performers as a supplier and requires excellence in what we do so that our relationship helps ABC Catalog meet or exceed their overall goals. Thanks to Jerry Skuta & Steve Sayles as well for their continued guidance as we have this success together. This is so important to our production and warehouse staff since it validates their amazing efforts that are ongoing daily.

August 2024 Newsletter - Marathon Leaders Visit & Assist Client Rooftop in Buffalo

Members of the Marathon companies took a visit to a local rooftop job site to help start the instillation process.  This site was located at 899 Main St. in Buffalo, NY. This project utilized our MRP Supports products that included 250 Cumaru wood deck tiles & 350 PR2 pedestals. This is a building renovation that will include office spaces and a patio section that all members of the building can enjoy.

July 2024 Newsletter - Marathon Hosts Company Gathering at Hamburg Brewing Company

The Marathon Companies hosted their employee summer outing at The Hamburg Brewery. It was a terrific night in which the staff with their families and friends enjoyed great weather, conversation and most of all a well deserved recognition of their amazing efforts everyday at the companies. We also had the opportunity to wish one of our long time employees Alex Zdrojewski the best on his new opportunity in his field after graduating with his masters. June 2024 Newsletter - Tod Visits Prior Owner in Ontario Canada!

Marathon Companies owner, Tod Cislo and wife Tina ventured up to Caledon Ontario which is about an hour north of Toronto to visit with the previous owner of Marathon, Doug Rowan & his wife Jane. It was a glorious day in which they hosted us at their beautiful home in the country. There place has been a culmination of almost 50 years of developing a property that it’s gardens are spectacular and were in full bloom during the visit.

May 2024 Newsletter - Marathon Team Attends Buffalo Bills After Draft Event!

The Marathon team was treated to a tour of the stadium including the press room, locker rooms for both the visiting team and home team and then allowed to walk the actual field. This was a treat since all guests were informed in the future the new stadium will be real grass and no one will be allowed to walk the field to ensure its integrity and health. A great event that gave a lot of optimism for this upcoming football season. Go Bills!!!

April 2024 Newsletter - Marathon Team Attends WNY Make a Wish Gala!

The Marathon family attended the WNY Make a Wish Gala at the Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino in Niagara Falls, presented by the Paul A. Saffrin Family Foundation. This event is targeted to raise funds to assist in granting more wishes for children with critical illness. A memorable evening for a great cause!

The Marathon companies traveled city to city for trade shows this past month to showcase our industry leading industry products from Marathon Roofing Products & MRP Supports. These trips included Chicago, New York, Boston, Colorado & Las Vegas. Highlighted is the International Roofing Expo that was held at the Las Vegas Convention Center where we displayed our NEW 20x20 Island Booth!

The Marathon Companies celebrated their annual Holiday Party tradition at the Mansard Inn near our offices in Orchard Park NY.  We have been doing these gatherings for over 55 years and look forward to many more. The special night was highlighted with great cocktails, appetizers and an excellent dinner enjoyed by all.

After 32 years Ron Smigiera is announcing Retirement with Marathon

Ron Smigiera started with Marathon in June of 1991. A lot of things in the world have changed since then but not Ron providing  his services for Marathon. On Tuesday, June 6th 2023 we celebrated Rons Retirement at The Original Warehouse restaurant in Orchard Park. Ron was presented gifts from the staff and a retirement check from President, Tod Cislo. Rons last day of work was June 23rd 2023. Ron, a man of very few words told the group at the retirement party, “I'm really going to miss you guys”.
